1980–1984: Gastric Cancer. Reference pathologist on the Princess Alexandra Hospital Gastro-oesophageal Research project, a multi-disciplinary prospective study of gastro-oesophageal cancer, funded by the Queensland Cancer Fund.

Post Graduate Education
§ From 1985 to 1988, I organised and developed post-graduate medical education in conjunction with SAPMEA (SA Postgraduate Medical Education Association) in the Eyre Peninsula/Iron Triangle region of South Australia.
§ During 1986-1987, I was a member of the SAPMEA Task Force into country post-graduate medication education.
§ I was a member of the SAPMEA Executive Committee from 1988-1990.
